Step 4

Place on a sterilised cap and shake well to dissolve powder.

1. Whole milk

Whole milk is the first ingredient in every one of our preparations, and it's what makes our reputation. Our whole milk comes from grass-fed cows on European farms and is rich in natural mammalian milk fat. Using whole milk gives our recipe a naturally creamy taste and allows us to reduce the amount of vegetable oils, which typically account for 100% of the fat content in other infant formula brands. Using whole milk also means that our recipes contain naturally occurring MFGMs.

2. Skimmed milk

Skimmed milk is a source of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and essential minerals such as calcium and phosphorus, which are important for bone health. The skimmed milk you'll find in Kendamil comes from European farms and grass-fed cows.

3. Whey Protein

We add whey protein to our recipe to adjust the naturally high casein content of cow's milk, to achieve a whey:casein ratio of around 60:40. This adjusted ratio more closely resembles the composition of breast milk. Whey protein is easier to digest than casein protein, as it remains soluble in the acidic environment of the stomach, allowing it to be digested and absorbed quickly. Our whey protein source is also rich in lactose, the most common carbohydrate (or 'sugar') in breast milk, which provides energy for your child

4. Fat blend

In addition to the natural fat in our whole milk, we use a blend of infant-quality coconut, sunflower and rapeseed oils for our fat content. These oils are necessary to provide essential fatty acids (such as linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid) which are present in human milk and are the precursors enabling your baby to manufacture long-chain polyunsaturated fats such as DHA. We cannot rely exclusively on whole cow's milk fat, as these fatty acids are not present in sufficient quantities. We never include palm oil or soybean oil in our preparations

5. DHA

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is a type of omega-3 fatty acid that contributes to healthy brain and eye development. It is naturally present in mother's milk and plays a crucial role in the growth and functioning of the infant's nervous system. Our DHA comes from sustainably cultivated seaweed.

6. GOS & FOS

GOS (galacto-oligosaccharides) are dietary fibers added to infant formulas to mimic the effects of prebiotics found in breast milk. They promote the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria, which can lead to a healthier digestive system, softer stools and potential benefits for the immune system. FOS (fructo-oligosaccharides) are our second form of dietary fiber. Like GOS, these prebiotic fibers nourish the beneficial bacteria in an infant's gut, promoting healthy digestion, softer stools and potential immune system support.

Amazing, fab, love it!

There really is no other milk on the market like Kendamil. My little boy has got on so well with it since weaning him off expressed breast milk at 6 months after him not being able to latch. Using Kendamil has taken so much stress out of feeding away. And as for the customer service, wow! Never had a company be so quick and helpful at answering questions and queries which is exactly what you need when you are a busy parent! Thank you Kendamil!
